Shields VS. Lasguns

Looks like Emperor features the shields/lasgun tactics. After seeing many of the units with the signature boxy orange glow, and visiting the main site which features an Ordos unit called a Las-Gun Tank, I get the idea that they are going to finally use the good old tactic. The Sardukar also feature bladed weapons, so who knows???

lasgun hits a shield it creates a sub-atomic explosion, much like an atomic explosion but it is totally unpredictable, blowing up eitherthe guy with the lasgun and the guy with the shield or blowing up the entire star system, or any explosion in betwwen. It also leaves no radiation.

But that would create big problems. Think about it: you take a shielded unit and a lasgun tank. You move them near their base and when they come for you, you fire the lasgun at the shield blowing them to hell... a lame way to win.

Perhaps they do not have lasguns, but only shields. And perhaps the shield are weap against certain units. Fremen etc who have special slow moving weapons which penetrate the shield.

Or maybe the shield just drops after a time. power empty is shield down.

Or the shield just gets less and less due to havy incoming (Startrek)

Or they have both and are ignoring the effects las guns cause when used against a shield.

no ive seen the explosion........not very large...westwood issmater then that!!!!
