May not be suitable for children. Contains foul language and some unsuitable behavior

Here is a good game someone on another forum pointed out.

It pretty much talks about Bush and his policies.

Convinced me!

http://www.emogame.com/bushgame.html

Quite addictive the first time around.

Go Hulkamania!

I burst out laughing when I used his special weapon.

EDIT - Oddly enough, the more I played it the more unsuitable it becomes.

Good thing the graphics are not good.

You seem too keen on these Democrats to think of them as the "lesser of two evils," man. Let's just hope you're right, you know?

Me? Keen?

No I just thought of this game as a fun thing to play while learning about Bush.

Funny what someone posted at another forum about Bush.

As a party, the Democrats aren't spectacular, but there are some very good indivduals: Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, Al Sharpton...  I'm sure there are others...  The point being, yes I'm all giddy with excitement right now, thanks to the convention, but it really IS an exciting prospect that we could put someone new in the White House.  Kerry does have some good views (education, for example).  Yes, I was bashing the party not a week back, but being positive about your only hope for salvation is much better than complaining about the best mix of liberality and electability this country has to offer ;)

"Kerry's wife give a couple of great speechs"

I watched one of them for about 20 minutes. I don't think I've seen a worse political speech. The worst bit was the deliberate pause for (as in prompting) applause in what was basically an autobiography. Are they all as bad over there?

By our standards, that was good...  Please, dont dump me into depression by making American politics sound even WORSE by comparsion to Europe than I already believe....

Dean's speech was good, though (I think).

If you want to see an American politician give a GREAT speech, watch the Rev. Al Sharpton who spoke today (Wednesday).

I saw another one today (Parliament is on its summer break, so BBC Parliament has nothing better to do). Edwards, as I recall: not too bad, comparative to the last one. When he'd finished, he brought on his entire family to be cheered at as if he'd just become president, not set out a manifesto. Perhaps it's a cultural difference, but it would be seen as arrogance here.

This Teresa Kerry is some kind of political figure, yes? She's not just speaking because she's his wife?

She's a philanthropist.  You should watch Al Sharpton's speech, as I mentioned before.

It's on there somewhere (he spoke on Wednesday).  Yeah, Edwards can speak pretty well thanks to having been a lawyer.

Watch a speech on the net? I might look for a text transcript. Hopefully, it'll be less tacky (and slow). I mean my connection isn't that great (pause, applause follows as soon as the brighter ones get the hint), and I don't have time to watch every detail of the speeches (pause, applause follows as soon as the brighter ones get the hint, alonf with banner waving and cheering), so there's not much point trying to watch it online. (beams and brings on extended family, leaving only after 10 minutes has elapsed, though before everyone gets bored of cheering).

Heh, I loved the game, even though it does get pretty offensive at times... but the most important parts are the various facts about the Bush presidency, anyway.

As for the Democratic convention, don't get too excited. At the end of the day, they're only the lesser of two evils...

And by the way, did you hear about the draconian security measures they put in place? The amazing thing is that they're against left-wing protestors.

You mean the same security measures Clinton and now Bush use whenever the President goes somewhere?  That we establish protestor quarantine zones at least a quarter of a mile off route of the motorcade to avoid just the sort of publicity the RNC wanted the DNC to get for it?  ;)

Classmates and I got a picture with him and made front page of the newspaper.

There was about 40 of us students and it wasn't planned or anything, he was just there so we got our picture taken by his professional photographer. The security didn't check us out or anything.

But he was drinking (there was a party or something), and it was at the Hard Rock Cafe. They have good burgers.

Glad I live in Canada where I can go talk/meet to my politicians.

Mahdi, context please?

Is this (I mean the second, I susppose the first is technically possible here) some sort of bizarre Canadian custom?

Or are you a relative of the PM?
