I'm worried about the Falklands.  There will be a gap in 2006 when the Harriers (both RAF and RN) wont be in service.  During this time apparently we will be basically powerless to stop an Argentian invasion.

I think only older versions will be decomissioned, GR7s will go on until JSF. What for would you have those three little carriers then?  ;D

No, the GR7's are all going out of service, and will be recommisioned as GR9s.  We are getting rid of our three little carriers and getting two massive carriers, in 2010 and 2012.

We still have the Tornado's guarding Falklands.....anyway the Argentines won't mess with us.

I hope they don't cancel more of the Eurofighter orders.  The Eurofighter combined with the Meteor BVRAAM missile will be the best in the world.  Shame the Meteor doesn't come out until 2010, lol.  But the Eurofighter is still the best fighter in the world, especially when you have RAF pilots in them.

The Berkut? Doubt it.  It looks good but I'm not sure its as good technically.  Besides, even though it looks good, the Eurofighter looks amazing, especially with the fold-back canards to help slow it down when landing.

Well did you not notice that there was alot of building work going on when you were there?  Basically the Yanks bought it and use it as their base when launching attacks.  B1's B2's etc...  Now when they have finished the building they are turning it into a USAF Base with B2's B1's and something else.  I can't wait!
