I can`t run GTA vice City.

30 minutes ago my VC worked fine, but when I exit to windows (because I was modding) I couldnt go back to the game. I press the icon, but nothing happen. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but it still don`t work!!!

Was the modding you were doing related to GTA VC ?

maybe u made bad modification and game cant run, find in registry of system a keys ad values contain gta3 gta vc , or something, remove and install, that works, if no. ask other people ..Trrrrrr

GTA Vice City, leaves some files behind in the "My Documents" folder ("C:Document and Settings<Username>My DocumentsGTA Vice City User Files")

Although those files only contain savegames and your settings (like resolution etc.) it may be that one of these files (the settings file most likely, "gta_vc.set") got corrupted while running a modded version of the game.

Try playing with these files removed out of that folder. That might work.

I just didn`t modified something I was just checking where can I modify  the pedestrians, so each type carry one weapon. I didn`t understood the data commands, so I leave the files untouched. I only modified the weapon  slots in the weapo.dat file.

I had that problem as well, and I never really bothered with modding.  You clikc on the executable, and it shows the cursor-with-little-hourglass cursor for a few seconds, then the computer acts as though you had never run it in the first place.

Unfortunatly though, I don't have any help for you.  That happened to me, and I never ran VC again.  Short of formatting your hard drive, I don't know what you could do, although I suspect there's still files left somewhere, or stuff left in the windows registry.  In any event, perhaps checking a Vice city tech help forum would be your best bet.

As I said before, this problem was fixed by deleting the GTA_vc.set file in "my docs" folder.
