So it has been out since Friday (in Britain at least) and I was wondering on anybodies thoughts.  I have managed to get it running ace on my brothers computer and it just looks gorgeous.  Better than any other game's graphics to date.  The AI is just stonkingly amazing.  Thoughts?

I've played the demo and you're right, the graphics are absolutely amazing. The AI is one of the best I've ever seen, although I have noticed that every so often the enemies just won't shoot at you if run straight in to them. It is very system demanding though. On my 2Ghz, 512mb rdram, GeForce fx5900, it can be a little slow loading up and it chugs occaisionally when there is a lot of action, the graphics can be turned down for a far better game play, but you lose the simply beautiful graphics.

All in all; a brilliant game that I plan to get this friday or something.

God dammit, I am stuck.  It's right at the start where you get picked up by that coloured guy (dont know his name) then get dropped off!

Oh no, this game has definite substance. The multiplayer is awesome, and the single player is pretty cool as well.

I did it, god damn them enemies are smart.  It also doesnt help when you cant see where you are going!

Don't you have the night vision yet? That thing is a god send. But yeah, the enemies are hella smart, have you fought the Trigens yet?

Nope, I have just got past that bit and gone underground for the first time.  My brother is really far on though.

But it is just amazing, I cant wait for updates, mods, sequels and add on packs.

Cool, i've orderd it.

The plot sounds COMPLETLY disjointed and non-sensical to me at the moment lol... i thoght it was just a cuban terrorist thingy from screen shots and from what iv'e read... now i hear that ma-beeeep-sts are involved... lol im lost.

When running at full (which is what I am running it at) it just looks amazing.  The best graphics by far released today.  The indoor enviroments look just brilliant and someone has finally got the water right!

Hmm, I would'nt say its perfect, it would be nice if there were nice decent sized waves, and the water surface should reflect more when looking up from under the water, still one of my favorite water effects. Also i'm not impressed with the plants, its really nothing new at all. Perfect physics though (or at least the closest to perfect ive seen), oh and the enemies are annoyingly clever. Cool details too.

All in all it's probly the best looking game ive seen, but there are bits of it that iv'e seen done better in other games, so it looks good as a whole but its not AMAZING.But whats really important is whther its a fun game, which it is, so it was worth bying for that, that and being able to throw rocks at people is fun, "dummy doesnt know where I am!" *throws rock* "hehe!" (definatly worth being killed for).

Well, I bought the game today.

Concerning water effects... The water is well made, but my tail in the water? They should add that water interaction part of Morrowind. however, the water itself is almost perfect in all other aspects.

It runs well with highest graphics, although it crashes when I try to run at 1600*1200 pixels, for some reason. Anyway, I run at 1024*768 for maximum frame rate. It's impossible to tesll the difference between that and 1280*960 pixels anyway.

The game is just lush, i love it.  People are trying to compare this with Doom III, i don't feel you can do that as Doom III is based indoors.  Although the indoors of FarCry are good, I feel that it is no match on those from Doom III

Whatever Far Cry has to offer, Doom 3 will beat.

Doom 3 is so much better done...

However, Far Cry is perhaps my favourite game first person shooter already!

Can u seriously compare the industrial enviroment of Doom III to the paradise enviroment of Far Cry?

I have to agree with EWS on this, they look quite similar in some respects but I just love  walking around the jungle and just looking at the environment. Driving into the sea is pretty cool as well :D
