I seen dawn of the dead at 9 last night. As some of you may know, i love the George Romero triligy, was a bit skeptical of the remake. But I actully enjoyed it.

The Plot: [hide] The movie begins with a nurse talking to a doctor, she is angry about having to work late, she mentions something about a biten patient. A few moments later its her at home and a very awkwardly placed but tastefull 10 second sex scene.

Once the chaos begins, its a 5-10 minute intro with flashs of chaos, reports talking and news breifings. A Johny cash song begins. The reports suddenly are taking off the camera by a pack of rapidly moving dead. Cities burn and military personel fight off waves of dead. Its very well done and at the end the title of Dawn of the Dead shows.

The rest of the movie involves a group of survivers in a shoping mall their atempts to escape.

The plot is well done, some awkward camera angles and transsisions but nothing thats to bad.[/hide]

Gore: The Gore level in dawn was exelent, while not overtaking Day of the Dead in gore it is close, FromĀ  entry and exit wounds to shot gun blasts to stakes through the eye. Very well done biteing and splattering effects, even well done chainsaw effects.

Music: The music was very well done, each peice fit will with the moment.

Action: Large amounts of action in this movie from the start till into the credits, two short sex scenes.

I was surprised at how good it was, from the amazing intro with the Johny cash song, the total desperation of the survivers, the gore shots and decent plot(well for a horror movie). Definetly recomended.

Overall a 9/10

I had the awesome experience of viewing the movie last Tuesday at a special screening and was taken back by the thrill of the movie. It has been quite a while since a really good horror flick has been released.

My favorite part of the movie has to be when they are re-enforcing the shuttle buses and Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine do their rendition of Down with the Sickness.

I also liked the way the zombies came after you in this flick, there was no slow, brain dead, shuffle your feet in the direction of the fresh meat. These were the jump up and chase the hell out of you zombies. When that fat dead lady sat up I knew hell was coming.

Well it was good for a zombie movie but zombie movies are never "great" movies. :)

Music was the best part, the lounge version of Down with the Sickness and Johnny Cash was great. I think it was When the Man Comes Around...

It was a fun movie! Once everything got started up it was awsome. The action was great and it was very exciting.

Only thing I did not get was how it all started.....how did the whole outbreak start?

I really dont like movies that have bad endings but it was very fun to go see with a group of friends!

I will give this one a 8/10
