Actually, EWS, we get more workers from Ireland than we do from Britain. You see, Ireland has completely state-paid secondary education as well as university education. In fact, it is Ireland (not Britain) that has the highest amount of PhDs per capita than any other nation in the world. If you're going to argue that better education means more workers, then I think you're a bit beat by the Irish.

Furthermore, citizens in America do not run the risk of getting killed every second of every day, that would be Baghdad, which isn't part of America. (Yet.)

Paying for hospitals kind of sucks, I'll grant you that. Having lower income taxes, however, makes us feel a bit better about it in the end, though. You see, having medical care included in tax money helps out the people who go to hospitals a lot, and hurts those who don't use hopsitals very much.

Actually, I heard that our life expectancy is going up, according to recent reviews. Life expectancy is misleading, since this is compiled from the average age-of-death (the age people were when they died), a great deal of individuals who die very young tend to counterbalance those who die very old. America has lots of old people (just look at Social Security). Anyway, the reason we have a lower life expectancy does not mean we live shorter lives, it means that a bit more of us die younger, and this is because of the point after the next one.

People who are skinny or fat. Okay, your point is...? Is there something wrong with being skinny or fat? Isn't peoples' choices whether or not they want to live a certain lifestyle? Are you telling me its "undesireable" to be either skinny or fat? What, do I have to be in a certain "weight range" for you, EWS? Are skinny people not supposed to marry fat people? Jeez.

Why life expectancy is low; stupid kid drunk off their ass drivers. That's a fair shot, EWS, I'll give you that. I think Europe had the best idea by making the drinking age low and the driving age high, instead of the other way around in the USA. In Europe, you can get smashed, but you won't be able to kill anyone. In America, its different.

Bad gun laws; Democrats are attempting to institute more stringent gun laws, actually similar to those in place by the UK. So, since the US is trying to follow your lead, I suggest you back off on this score. However, I will acknowledge that gun-related death is a problem. Although it is not the biggest problem.

Second-rate education. In High School, sometimes. In College, no. American university education, dare I say, ranks up with the reknown United Kingdom universities. Have you been to an American university? No. You may have been to an American high school, which I admit, is not often the best there is, but, even then, you overgeneralize. I go to a public school that ranks up with the best in the United States. I've taken public speaking, philosophy, and a plethora of other courses taught by teachers who have been to the college level and have received doctorates in their area of study. To say that "all American schools are second-rate" when you've been to only one American school (I've been to three, all of them quite good, public, schools) is to make an overgeneralization that is, in the end, incorrect. By the way, I would like to add that George W. Bush, while governor of Texas, was able to seriously reform the Texan high school system, and he actually brought it up to par with... dare I say it... English high schools. It appears the loony did one thing right, huh?

I think I'm done.

I am sorry, I suppose I should of clairfied my skinny and fat comment.  A lot of the people I went saw were extremly overwieght.  Now being extremly overweight brings a plathora of health problems.  As with being extremly skinny.  That is what I meant.

Again, I suppose I should of clarified my Uni statement.  I am from Scotland and we run the same scheme, Uni is paid by our government as is our secondary schools.  And the majority of Scot graduates go to America.

Thirdaly, I attended 3 schools.  Mount Dora High, Eustice, Lake Tech ( a college I think) and A university near Lake Wales (all in florida)

In which case, I apologize for assuming that you attended only an American high school. And thank you for clarifying that you attended schools in Florida. You see, I have been born and raised a New Englander, and we in New England are... well... we're our own unique part of the United States. We like to think of ourselves as "liberal and progressive", and try to change things around to better ourselves. At any rate, before my New England propaganda gets too irritating, I believe that New England schools are among the best, if not in the world, in the United States. Yale University, Harvard, Dartmouth, in addition to other reknown schools in foreign affairs such as Tufts or progressive-oriented Brown... well, we try to do our best. In addition, Connecticut is the first-ranked state in Education, with the other five New England states ranking pretty well themselves (hopefully with little exception, I'm not sure about New Hampshire and Maine). Things are different where we've been, I guess.

that can never happen...  America is so intertwined with all the other countries they would all perish...

Think of America as an inoperable benign brain tumor....you cant live without us.

  :D

How very apt...  ;D

No, seriously, I have nothing against Americans in general. But this... this sounds like Hitler's lebensraum. Expanding a 'superior' race to subjugate the others and rightfully gain control.

Of course this may just be my interpretation of it... But it seems very likely.

No country should invade another. I don't think any one country have control over any others.

On the note of the already-existing American Economic Empire, I expect if the people in charge ever did anything so terrible as to encourage the other participant groups (other countries) to abandon the USA, the others in the US would probably do something to rectify the situation. If not it would probably go down under, economically. It would kill just about everything else, but the USA too.

I dont know if you know this but in Florida, the schools have deals with pepsi so they can put pepsi vending machines in the schools.  And I believe that soon they are getting McDonalds or some other fast food chain in and then getting the students to staff it.  Sorry, but I dont want my kids going to a school like that.

Heh, that started happening a little up here, but we just began pouring more state money into the schools to defeat it. We have worse food, since state-funded operations are usually carreid out by the lowest bidder, but we go without constant, and mostly senseless, advertisements by corporations. Which is something I prefer.

Did you know that my hometown has an ordinance that prevents any fast-food restaruant -- including McDonald's, Burger King, all of them -- from setting up shop within town limits?

Sounds like the way forward to me.  Our government has now banned certain foods being made in our schools and we now promote healthy foods.  The government gave us a new cafeteria in agreeance that we promote healthy eating and nice healthy food.  Which we do.

Indeed. Towns up here spend huge amounts of their budgets on education. The one high school in our town is on the verge of completing a 6 million dollar renovation project which has doubled the size of the school, provided computers (G4 macs, I think they're called) pretty much for every room, built a second library, and turned the architecture into art-deco-style-modern-the-future-is-white-with-lots-of-glass-walls across the new wing of the school.
