AeonGrey
I was just thinking....and I think I realized why I like Frank's style so much. I was talking to someone about the Dune books. A coworker didn't know much about the difference between Frank's and Brian's books. I personally am not a fan of the prequels, but in talking to this person I think I figured out what it is about Frank's style that I like so much, and why I like it so much better than Brian's.Frank doesn't waste words or page space. He doesn't waste time recapping the same plotline briefly every time a character re-enters the book after a few chapters of absence. Every word Frank writes is valuable to the overall story. In short, I guess I don't like reading a book and feeling like the author is holding my hand, leading me through the story (unless it's Harry Potter). I guess when I'm reading Frank I just get the sense that he trusts the reader to be smart enough to understand his story...so he just tells it, presents you with what you need to know, and lets you figure it out. Vanguard3000
I agree as well. I think that, in addition to this, Frank's works also "trust" you (as you aptly put it) to imagine things in your own way. He didn't nitpick about too many details. This gives the reader much more liberty to imagine things in his/her own way.

Andrew
I agree completely AeonGrey.Frank didn't need to spend 1/2 of each book dedicated to telling what happened in the previous books.
Filo
I agree too! In France we had great writer who wrote in a style according to these qualities, his name was Ren
