I recently bought Red Alert (10 euros) to test the appeal.

Ok Tania is a funny unit, but apart that i don't get into the gameplay.

I have abandoned pretty soon, may be i should insist a little more...

I find the RA campaign to be much fun still.

and Kari Wuhrer is o.k. Although i don't understand where all the people are so crazy about :) . I see better women on the streets :) . Probably my taste though :)

The red alert games are better than Tiberian Sun, but it is a good game so I would recommend buying it. though the music in the game I do not like.

ok, let me just get my controversy gloves on....

good points of TS:  storyline and suspense, mods, CABAL (legend!)

bad points of TS:  major hype surrounding release (major WRONG hype at that), possibly the worst imbalance in sides ever (ra2 was much better for that reason), the worst standard of graphics in all the c&c games (although to be fair firestorm changed that a little), A.I not that good at all.  red alert and c&c kept me stuck for about 6 months each, i had TS done on both sides in about 3 months.

in terms of gaming tho, in ra1 it's still to this day always more than a little disturbing when you realise your enemy has about 10 barrackses and then you hear a continuous stream of "HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!" "HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!" "HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!" "HA-HA-HA-HA!""HA-HA-HA-HA!"

and then you realise he has no sam sites and you mow down $100000 worth of tanyas with one hind.  idiot.
