EMPEROR Wont read maps0001.rfd

Updated my hard drive so reloaded every thing again. When loaded Emperor at 48% it could not read Maps0001.rfd hit resume to see if it would help same thing at 85% could some one help? :(

Try re-installing the game, if you have anti-virus software disable it whilst you install the game.

Copy all the files to your harddrive, then try installing from there. If that doesn't work, download the emperor install fix (find a link in tech support) and replace the CD files on your HDD with the ones in the zip archive, then install again.

Tried copying files to hard drive still same thing wont read maps0001.rfd.

Also tried loading games before anything but xp on system same thing.

Did you copy just the one file it can't read, or did you opy the whole setup folder to your harddrive ?

copied the whole disk to the hard drive. But when it came to the maps0001 file it could not read it

Try cleaning your CD disc it might have a fingerprint on it or something.I can't send you the file because it's 231MB in size.

Ah. You're buggered I'm afraid. I've got the same problem with my CD, but luckily I had it installed downstairs on a different computer so I made up a new install disk with the working installdisc files and the ones from the installed copy of emp on my other comp. If you have it installed somewhere else then you can do the same.

did you try to install Emperor from a copied CD JB1958 ?

No it was the one I bought from the store
