Argh this one is really pissing me off....

So once again I turn to you guys...

Ok , just a few days ago I start up generals and it loads up and the opening menu where the USA units are shooting at the incomming GLA and the sand has gone from its original color to black. I figured it was a glitch so I restarted the game, dident work. Went into a multiplayer game and the same thing except I couldent see anything cause all of the ground was black too.

I figured hmmmm maybe a virus, scanned for a virus, none were found.

Ive tried everything I could think of , ive reinstalled 4 or 5 times. Ive defraged, downloaded the latest drivers.....

I cant think of anything else to do....I really frustrated and cant figure out what to do...

The only idea I have left is that maybe there are overlapping files. Because when I unstalled the game it said that there were some files that could not be eraced and would have to be eraced manually. I dont know where to locate these files.... So maybe those stray files are screwing up my game.....

Have you deleted the Generals folder in My Documents ?

Also, has it worked before ? If so, what changed ?

If you can, attach your dxdiag :)

EDIT: sorry i saw that you already did that, well maybe deleting the generals folder inside the "My Documents" folder...

Well here are a few.

Your direct draw is disabled, enable that.

You need more memory.

Also you don't have service pack 1a installed for windows.

Generals is a very graphics intensive game, I think your graphics card isn't up to it.

For Generals to work right you need to have side band addressing enabled and fast writes, I don't think your card supports this.

Gob is quite right half the driver info is missing, like driver date etc etc.

I have played Generals for quite some time without experencing any trouble like this at all....

Ok that dosent matter, i will try to put up a new dxdiag and enable the direct draw...

But uh....how would i enable this direct draw now?

And what is your best suggestion on how to free up some memory...

Thanx gob...

Anyways im at my end, im gettin really depressed that I cant find a cure for my computer.....

I freed up 7 gigs by deleting games i dont play anymore, eracing icons on the desktop i dont use at all, and just gettin rid of all the shit im not using, i mean all of it...

I ran disc cleanup, defrag...

Downloaded all the windows updates avaliable, including the new driver, scanned for viruses again......

Restarted a few times.... and that dam  >:(FU***** BLACK SH** is still FU***** there!! >:(

>:( >:(  :-:( :( :-[ :-[

I dont know what to do......

Weird, your service pack 1 is still not showing up. And as far as I can tell, this isn't a direct 9 output.

You also may want to install older Nvidia drivers, or use the recommended Omega drivers. The driver version you use isn't written for your video card, but aimed at the GeForce FX cards.

What resolution are you trying to play the game in ?
