What happened to the 'Q'-trick???

As it says, in TS etc. you could let your tanks driving/walking and at the same timing shooting at a SPECEFIC target, by using the 'q'-key. What has happened to it in Emperor. It is a matter of great importance... What's the new key, or isn't there any... I'm desperate :P and almost defeated... :P

I tried many times, but it doesn't work. I select a unit ( a Mongoose) and let it fire on a spot, then I use ctrl + shift + move spot, but the unit only moves to the spot and doesn't shoot anymore... :(

What it does is move to it's destination, but along the way it will stop to engage any enemy units in combat that it may meet. Then it continues when the battle is over.
