The game is meant to be played with one of the 4 CDs in the cd-drive. It's not a bug that you need the CD to play the game.

As for treading on thin ice, I have the original emperor discs , officially bought.

I just don't want to arrive at the point where my game disc is so scratched from frequent use that it stops working.

Can someone post the thread for the empfix,exe please.

Thanks I didn't mean that, I found the emp fix myself, thanks anyway.But the virtual drive thingy still doesn't work ? How do you mean that the install fix does the same thing as no CD ?

Shove the files in the zip into your emp dir and it will run without the CD in the drive.

I finally managed to play Emperor without the game disc.

Not only does it load really fast compared to a CD Rom drive, but the game speed is also much faster ! ;D
