Babylon 5 and Techno Mages

I have seen almost every episode of B5 (except for the crappy 5th season, I hated the fact that ivoniva was taken away, and Sheridan turned into a complete ass! anyways I saw the episode today where the drazi are fighting in their ritual combat involving the green and purple sashes, and some of the crew has a meet up with the techno mages.

They are just plain cool, and even though they were tainted bigtime in that yucky spin off, I really like em.

Do any of you guys have any info on them? I cant find any and would like to read up more on their history. anybody else like em?

For the B5 Order, I reccomend a trilogy that should be in your local bookstore. Babylon 5: The Passing of the Techno-Mages, Trilogy. It's quite good, starting out with a book entitled "Casting Shadows". It explores Galen's history, the history of the Technomages themselves, and their rituals. Hope that helps.

I watched most of the episodes, but dont remember what you are describing. I know of the drazi(grey guys?)

I wish I knew what you are talking about, because it sounds really cool. Babylon 5 is one of those series I would have liked to watch (I watched it a few times back in the old Sinclair days, but I've only seen two or three since), but to understand that show, you have to watch it religiously. Even a single episode missed can throw you off for some time.

[edit] Also, this Technomage thing sounds pretty neat. Could you please explain this a bit? It reminds me of D.W. Bradley's CyberMage, one of my all-time favourites.

For me, model of technomage is the one created by czech author Neff, who made several stories about secret society of people controlling flows of electricity. As they were perfect mechanics and starship pilots, they are very close to Spacing Guild navigators, don't you think?

sure vanguard, from what I know, and have watched with some other episodes. They seem to be composed of many races of aliens, and are pretty darn old as a group. For a long time they distinguished themselves as aids and entertainers in the court of centauri prime. They also became experts at technology obviously, and using the technology to uncover the mysteries of the universe, and they have many which nobody know about, even the first ones in some cases. They are kinda nomadic and travel wherever they are treated best, and use any powerstructure to their advantage. That is some of hwat I know now.
