Well, that pretty much sums it up. According to my display panel (the AGP settings in my geforce tab) AGP is disabled... I have a geforce FX 5900 Ultra which is obviously AGP (up to 8X) my mobo is 4X compatible. When I go to Bios it says AGP is enabled and so is fastwrite and all the other stuff to do with it. When I start up though, it still says it's off. It's not a display panel misrepresentation either as AIDA32 also says it's disabled. Any help... please?

1. I'm so terribly sorry for accidentally mistyping a word, your highness. ::) :P

2. No it worked fine even after I put the FX in. I think I know the problem now, due to Atomic's help on MSN. It looks like my VGA/AGP chipset drivers.

arrr right... could you break that thing again? so i could actually FIX something without everyone STEALING MY JOB!! *looks furious at Atomics name in the msn list* >:( ;)

ASUS A7A266 is your MOBO Appo ? but I can't find this anywhere. Is it a laptop or what.

The M1647 Alimagik 1 Drivers is the chipset drivers.

Do you have the original installation CD for your comp ? maybe you can install these, to see if it fixes the problem.

Or Flameweaver can find em for you maybe ? ;D

Yup latest version of DX and the latest Nvidia drivers. It's my ALI Chipset AGP drivers that are the problem. I think I've found the ones I need though. Hopefully they'll fix the problem.

hmm i have only 19" but i too put it on 1600x1200. At first i thought it was very small, but i got used to it real fast and now i think it's perfect for me.

For resolutions. . running with 1280 x 1024 myself .. or a weird combination in dual monitor setup depending on the computer I am at.

hi gryphon

I only have a 14 inch monitor so i use 800 x 600 screen resolution to make my icons bigger, I will try the screen resolution you guys use to see if its any better, does anyone know whats the best screen resolution for a 14 inch monitor.

hi Atomic

there is a difference with the new nVidea driver, ive enclosed two screen shots, i used `performance test` to make a comparison of my pc , before and after the new driver.

thought to remember reading you had a smaller monitor somewhere. :)

for a 14inch 800x600 isn't that bad I think. I have used 1024x768 on such a screen myslef for a while, although that really hurts your eyes in the long run. Besides that, you can't read a thing when you are located more then 3/4 meter from the screen.

Don't know whether this will help, but if you set your resolution to 1024 X 768, you can increase the size of your Icons on your desktop and in the taskbar at the bottom.

I also had a 14 " monitor and I always set it up that way.
