Children of Dune TV serie's name & Dune Messiah book.

Finally I found more Dune books from library far away, and I borrowed Dune messiah. First I thought that I took wrong book, as the name of the second miniserie is Children of Dune. Then I saw the "part two of the Dune rilogy" text above the title. Why the miniserie is named Children of Dune, as it is the third book?

And also, the cover of this book is rather funny... Flying Saucers straight from the 50's movies and odd guys flying with them.

I will start now to read this book, and I hope that the English doesn't make it harder to read.

The miniseries Children of Dune, is based on Dune Messiah(the second book) and children of Dune (the third book)

The first part of the miniseries is Dune Messiah, and the 2nd and 3rd parts are Children of Dune.

Why? It isn't a particularly confusing concept... the Children of Dune miniseries takes to television both books. Rather then making two movies, they made one and named it after the latter of the two books.

which edition of dune messiah are you reading jack leaf? if it's the old NEL one, then that's an ornithopter on the front. but it probly isnt that version.

The latter of the two books was Children of Dune, meaning Dune Messiah is second in the series while Chilrden of Dune is the third.

You see some people who were so to speak in limbo land concerning English language books/films etc (otherwise known as Germany) never heard of Dune until I got Dune for Amiga IBM floppys.The two blue ones.

Then eventually Dune2000.

Then even later Emperor BFD.

That is why I am completely in the dark about the order of release for the Dune books and the Mini series,DVD books etc. ;)
