i am very new to BASIC and i just wanted to know how you could save your the program you design in BASIC as a seperate application that doesnt need BASIC to run. i am working on a very old computer that is not mine (PC 486) and i would like to be able to use my program on newer computers, such as PC III or PC 4.

Thanks greatly

What kind of basic is this?

Q Basic, GW Basic, Visual Basic?

If it's visual basic, you need at least one dll file called msvbvm60.dll

Do you need some extra controls than just the normal ones?

QBasic can't compile an application, I used to make BAT files to start my projects. DOS can run qbasic programs as a command. If DOS on newer comp lacks it, then just copy it. No one would hunt you for that... Maybe you should try TurboBasic, this one can compile programs to EXE.

no i was mentioning QBASIC. so if QBASIC can not compile serperate applications, then you said I should use TurboBasic? i am assuming it uses the same programming language as BASIC> If so, where do you think i could find it?

thank you for the help, again :)

I don't know, it was made by Borland I think. If the firm exists yet, I doubt you will be able to download it there, search for some older utility page. But if you copy qbasic to DOS of your newer comp, a batch file should work too.
