Red in both Skirmish and Campaign mode

Does anyone out there know how to edit the colours in Artini file so that you can use RED in Skirmish AND in Campaign?

KH2, ITDG and a number others have RED in skirmish but this sets the Harkonnen colour in Campaign to a pinky-purple.

Is there also any way to edit the skirmish menu (bitmap) to reflect the colour changes then made or can you only change the text in the TXT files.

Any ideas?

Sure, go in to a paint program, find out what the number for red is... (xxx,xxx,xxx) and replace the colour you want to replace. It wont appear red in the selection menu, but it will during the game.

I know the colour CYM definition (from KH2), the problem I have is that if you redefine PINK (as for example KH2 and ITDG do) then the campaign colour for Harkonnen changes. I was wondering if anyone had tested which of the 8 possible colours in Skirmish relate back to the main armies in Campaign mode, or whether I must test it out myself.

It wont appear red in the selection menu, but it will during the game.

There are textures that control this, but I can't remember their names so you'll have to look for yourself. You can always keep the red as a particular shade of red (say burgundy) and make the pink into a blood red.

Great thank you for your help.

I hope to have my mod finished some time, once I stop changing it that is!

It is called Imperial Civil War, has all three sides plus an expanded Imperial sub-house (IM-Factory, IM-SuperWindtrap, IM-MachineGunPost and IX-CO-Research Centre).

It is designed to work in Campaign mode, replacing campaign buildings and units with the new ones that try to keep the flow of the campaign mode while bringing new interest and challenges. I have also taken the idea from KH3 of some extra sub-house+sub-house units that will make a cameo apperance in campaign mode but are designed for use in skirmish, hence my desire to sort out skirmish red.

I have borrowed some ideas (and some icons/textures/buildings/units) from KH2/KH3, ITDG, Corrino expansion, Corrinos Revenge, Airstrike (to name just a few, that I will give credit to in my notes when I release the mod) but have re-textured, re-done almost everything (at least three times!) to fit the story-line of being five-ten years after the start of the War of Assasins, and the three sides basically being back where they started. Oh except for the Renegade mercenary Imperial troops that have split up and joined the three sides...upsetting the Gold and Purple regular Imperial Sardaukar troops/units.

As I hope to finish by early September can anyone tell me if they know when Dune Editing site will be coming back?

Ok, it's official, these textures hate me!

I tried opening them with MGI PhotoSuite. Didn't work. Then I tried with Paint Shop Pro. Didn't work. Then I tried converting them to another image format with RAD Video Tools. Didn't work. Arghhh!!! What can I use to edit these things?

You opened the RFD file by going to C:/Westwood/Emperor/Data and clicking on it, didn't you? If that's the case, you're going to have to re-download (yes, re-download...something to do with the registry) DuneEx.

Can you extract those .tga files and send them to me, or attach them to a post? I'd really appreciate it, and it would be a whole lot easier than re-downloading DuneEx...

Btw, in Kwisatz Haderach 3, the colour of the mandatory computer player in skirmish is black. Yes, that's right, BLACK! I thought it looked kinda silly to always have a pink enemy...
