All players start in the center of the map, destroy the oil barrels first to allow safe passage of your mcv to the outer building areas. In this mission commander you are only allowed to fight with infantry, the construction of a factory ( vehicules ) and/or starport is prohibited. Primary objective: win the infantry battle and gain control of the neutral buildings. -

On the map edges there is a "highliner infantry zone" with bridges that only can be accessed by infantry. The other parts can be accessed by all units. There are several harkonen neutral buildings that can be captured. Only spiderman can find his way on this Giedi Prime map. -

Our intelligence reports that the Harkonnen troops were transferred to the eastern region as support to finish off our remaining troops there. Infiltrate and occupy this region commander... let the spice flow... Air units are very important as the spice grounds in the centre part of the map can only be accessed by infantry. Destroy or capture the unguarded Harkonnen buildings before they detect our presence. -

No new weapons or additional unlocks, just 3 new maps and new vehicles According to BF2.se, the next Battlefield 2 patch will include a brand new map, Road to Jalalabad. Although not much is currently known about this, it appears that the map will pitch US forces against MEC. Additionally, the update will include a new game mode known as "infantry only", something that the competitive scene has been asking for since the release of Battlefield 2.

Community Update - 5/09/06 Greetings Soldiers: We at DICE and EA are aware of the concern surrounding the coming change to squad selection. We would like to take a moment to ease the feelings of tension related to this change. Our goal is to refocus game play on team work, squad coordination and to also remove the spawning exploit used by some. In BF2 we introduced tools that would allow players to support one another as they battle for control points. To further enhance this aspect of game play squads were introduced to give players even more tools to coordinate their efforts and support each other. Allowing squad mates to spawn on the squad leader was intended to provide an easy way for squads to stay together during chaotic battles. Unfortunately squad leaders have been used by some to launch team wide attacks on remote parts of maps with little thought to actual team unity beyond these maneuvers. We believe this change will refocus the game play on team work and add more value to the roles of Squad Lead and Commander. /The team at Dice and EA

No its a legit ranked server that is running the karkland map 24/24. On the server rules there is a yellow text on top saying that you will be kicked when you are using another weapon then knife, pistol or shock paddles. 95pct of the people are following the rules untill some smartass charges in with a tank and gun I dont see why it should be called stat padding, you are just fighting but this time with only 3 weapons

Got some good news for all european players, you can easely get your pistol and knife badge by playing on the Big Scores by Lords server ( 84.244.162.59:16567 ) On this server you may only play with pistols, knifes or shock paddles. Use of tanks or any other weapon will get you kicked. Just earned the advanced rank of 1st Sergeant. 4 new medals by just playing 1 hr on that server: pistol and knife badge, legion of merit and good conduct ribbon ;D

No patch v1.21 is not out yet EA have released a community update stating that they're aware of the problems with the latest v1.2 update and that they're working hard to get the v1.21 hotfix out. The patch will be tested in a limited beta starting the end of this week. We're working around the clock to minimize your wait on the release of 1.21 but at the same time want to make sure that the patch is thoroughly tested before it goes out officially. The v1.21 hotfix will include, among other things, the following bug fixes: * Crash bug when using Hummer with TOW in the Special Forces expansion pack has been fixed * Screen capture is now working * Performance issues with certain ATI cards has been addressed * Server browser can now filter by map name * Claymores - the number that can be dropped at any one time has been reduced to 2 Stats problem was already resolved when i played this morning ;D The GameSpy stats server, responsible for storing Battlefield 2 account details and scores, is currently unavailable. As a result, players may be having trouble logging in, or viewing their points, ranks, etc. This is most likely only a temporary glitch and nothing to worry about.

BF2 news: --------- As mostly everyone has already figured out by now, EA/Gamespy global stat servers are having issues. For some reason they are not recording the stat updates very quickly. Some people claim to receive their points/awards after about 24 hours, but others still have them missing. There has been no word yet from EA concerning this. The EA Germany site has released some more information regarding the upcoming BF2: Euro Force booster pack. Although it's written in German, here at BFNation we've managed to extract the following details: * The boost pack will be released on February 23rd - whether this only applies to Germany is not clear * When you buy Euro Force, you don't buy a physical product, merely a code. With this code you are then able to download the game with the EA Downloader * It looks like you'll need a GameSpy username to use the downloader * The download will be approximately 350MB in size
