Indeed. I now know Mino's are better then Kobra's in general. Kobra's are so hard to use on a attack. :( The best thing of Mino's is that in a small group they can destroy a very large group before they even get the chance to fire! Their splash damage is good and they burst everything they got in one blow... However as I said earlyer that can also be a drawback if the other opponent micromanages good. It's very simpel why Mino's are the best (ground assault) unit: -In order to attack effective you need a large group. -Mino's are good against large groups (Because of Splash damage and quick burst!). *Remembers how my Mino's destroyed over 10 A. tanks which were just trying to get close to fire...* ;D

Tell me, what is it with people that always "suddenly" get a disconnection when they are losing?! >:( 1) Is it still an official victory for me? If you play a Battle Clan or a Quick match for example, who will get the points? 2) I once fought against someone and we had regular interuptions of a few seconds... We BOTH see the message: "Lost connection to {name}". So what's the deal? I'm sure I am not the one having a "connection break" unless it's the game that messes things up... Anyway, how can you find out who really "won" since we both see that the opponent got disconnected. I think we also both hear "Victory is yours!"... :-/ Someone please explain. 3) Is it a problem of the WW client or does the other person(/loser) just pull his connection(/heart) plug out? 4) If you know any other details about this subject PLZ tell me. Thanks in advance.

People on these boards actually think??

Oh and by the way, That "catching bullets" thing was a joke in case you wanted to reply on the "but then again I might be using them wrongly... " part. *lol*
-
Your "rank" depands on the number of posts you've made... You will be a Mongoose instead of a Flea with at least 25 posts... (Dunno all the other rankings.) Anyway, I was just kidding. My personal experience with EITS's are crap but then again I might be using them wrongly... The only use for EITS is catching bullets that otherwise would destroy your carryall. (Why are they named Carryall anyway? They carry only a Harvester! ;D)

Damn, I have to much time... ::)

After I got owned by my enemy while being atreides (in my newbie days) I decided to try Ordos and they sure were fun. I spanked major Atreides and Harkonnen aarses (Ordos players always seem to leave if they see I am Ordos also, so I rarly fought against Ordos...) and after winning about 30 games in a row I ofcource thought Orods were the best. I prayed that some player beated me cuz it was actually getting bored to only win... (Not bragging! :D) And on a bad day my prayers had been answered. I got totally creamed by an Atreides player and after that (I was in a very bad mood ofcource) another Harkonnen player beated the crap outta me! :'( >:( I began to seriously doubt my skillz and wonder if I had been fighting newbies all the time. :-/ ;D I re-tried Atreides and holy sweet mother of god they are good. :) They got the best Air-, infantry- and heavy ground unit(s). I know this is old news but who cares. *Waiting for another player to beat the sjit outta me again so I will FINALLY try Harkonnen* ;D

;D That must be the worst strategy ever! :P Well except Contaminator rushes perhaps... ;D :O ;D :O ::)

I wanna know who I am fighting. ;D What's yer online name when playing Emperor?
-
I think he's asking for attention... :-X
-
I think Sleepwalker means he likes these units in combination with other (tanks). I myself useally never attack with infantry except Fedaykin ofcource (Or projected sadaukar ;D). I do however use them in great numbers in my base defence (line). Just to prefent stealth units from passing. And ofcource to make my base defence *look* ok while useally all my big units are in the field which leave me with only infantry to defend... (They will totally cream las tanks trying to pass though.)

Hey I'm not a sand flea anymore! ;D Anyway, this thread got moved so the titel is kinda pointless...
-
Destroying his spice field alone is pointless. However the idiot carryall will fly the harvester to another field so you should guard that place with AA. I've tried it once and it worked really good. However this was on a small map and against a stupid opponent. ;) The AI in Emperor is just horrible. I wish you had a shitload of special carryall/harvester commands like: Don't fly/move - into this area/beyond this point...

When I play online I see sometimes a name with [...] behind it. It's sometimes a number and sometimes letters What the heck is it? ;D I've been told it can be a squad name but also points... When will what appear and how to get those points? And is a low or high number of points good? Etc etc... Explain plz. *trying to get this board more active* :P

Dunno if you all have this "problem" but when I deploy a Projector it always moves it's exit to south side which is very very unpractical when I have my base also on the south side. This way the projector won't get cover from it's projections and you need to move the projections all the way around the projectors to reach the enemy base... (And mostly you already don't have enough available space.) It would be alot more effective if you can choose where it's exit comes just like buildings(!). Is there a way to do so or...?
-
Anyway, what is this kind of dune game? Does any1 know a good URL with pics to get an impression?
-
Dex, wtf are you talking about. ;D Detonate them all at once and not one at the time since they could then destroy their own units. Anyway don't try to take out a Construction Yard with infiltratorz. It takes way to many. If you place your Ix Inf. between the refinery updrade patches you *can* blow up a refinery in one detonation. (Which is very anoying if you upgraded that refinery twice already) Ofcource are Infiltratorz lame but which units isn't? It's mostly the *insecure feeling* that is VERY anoying of Inf. Your enemy strikes j00 deep in the hard of your base which you thought was save... :'( Just spread infantry units at your enterances with a few scouts and Ix Inf. will be no problem in your base anymore.
-
Duh, That smelly goo from a Inkvine won't stay/burn long ofcource that's why you force fire. Keep the Inkvine shooting at one place and burn the stuff ONCE. Every time the Inkvine shoots again it will replace the old "patch" and keeps buring. I already tried it before (this topic) and it looks fun to see 10 inkvine creating an inferno. However it's extremely weak. ;)

By the way, what is everyones definition of "Rushing"? (Do I rush if I attack with 5 las tanks very early or..?) I think it's mostly the weak atreides ::) that are against rushes since they can't defend well with their crappy slow units. ;D House Ordos will prevail!
-
I do hate those real rushers that just set their waypiont from their factory to my base and build Buzzsaws like hell when we start with 30k credits... I however useally only play games with 10k begin credits so it's not really effective then...
-
If you like rushes or not, I don't give a wooden nickel. ::) Simpel fact is that if you don't build some quick forces early on I will totally spank ya aars. And what I do is not rushing, it's moving my defence line to my opponents base! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Ordos = Mobility. If you expect an ordos player to build up defence and wait till you come annihilate it you are an idiot. Ordos has weak armor generally so it needs to win by "sneakyness". If I see a large force comming to a spicefield where my las tanks have some quality time with my enemy harvesters I will move them away. No point in fighting a battle you can't win. Ordos may have weak armor but they won't lose units in pointless fights... And besides, when I anoy my enemy he is to busy to defend so he won't start a good attack on me. ;)
-
A Mino has a longer range then a Kobra. (Very little but still... :-/) I tested them once 1 vs 1. (I took over the atreides MCV as Ordos.) Kobra's are (way) stronger if they start hitting at the same time.
-
Thanks! Don't forget Atreides APC's though, they can really be a pain in the aars. I once got my whole base taken over :O while I was on a rampage to annihilate my opponents base. :-[ Still won though. ;D I'm glad WW make such a simpel unit so good and versatile.
-
Very often I see the text: "scouts can detect stealth units". How does it work? Or in other words; what is their detect range. Is it only if they are completly next to them - in this case any unit will do the same - or do they have a special ability? Ofcource scouts are better for this job then other units anyway even if they don't have a special detect stealth ability since they are cheap and cloaked. Hope anyone knows... ::)

Btw, The only "good" use for a Maker is to put one in your spice field and let it do nothing, since a Guild maker will keep worms away. (So it won't attack your harvesters...) Perhaps that's why they are so expensive. ???
