It's a few years since I played Dune 2 (Amiga), but if I recall correctly: At slow game speed, the slow units (like infantry) is very very slow compared to faster units. At faster game speed, infantry is relatively fast compared to faster units. At the right game speed I had no problem making a trooper outrun an angry enemy harvester (changed direction often).

Some of you mentioned stealth units, but in Dune 2 there is none. I guess you talk about D2k. My favorite unit in Dune 2 is the rocket launcher, because it is one of the most dangerous units and has the longest range. Quite fast too. A pack of theese covered by a couple of siege tanks means serious trouble for the target.

Maybe I have downloaded that patch from Windows Update, but I have never downloaded a patch from hp/Compaq.

It seems that gun turrets detects my Fremen if they walk too close. What else can reveal Fremen except gun turrets and light infantry?

I built a second hi-tech factory and it seemed to me that the airstrike was charging faster. Or maybe it's an illusion?

I have Dune 2000 v 1.02 (never updated). I have seen somewhere that newer versions exist. I'm not sure if to download them or not. What are the benefits and drawbacks with updating? I am in the middle of a game, what happens if I update right now? Do I have to start over again? OS: XP sp1 Thanks
