I recently wiped my history and temporary files, and I've noticed some URLS still autocomplete in the address bar. I think half of the games I've ever looked up on HOTU, and a bunch of old thread links here at FED2K are listed here, and it's annoying. How do I remove these from my autocomplete, without turning it off altogether? Thanks.

What I did works (IE 6), what you can do is turn inline AutoComplete off, press OK, and then turn it back on again. This should clear it up.

In options, in the content tab, under personal information, click on AutoComplete and click clear forms. :)

You can also choose its settings from this part.

go into tools => internet options... => and then click the button labelled "clear history".

It may sound like you have already done this but I have had an empty history and the address bar still remembered url's, which was solved by pressing that button. So press that button and the url memory is wiped. ;D So if ACE's idea does not work try this one :)

try manually deleting the files from the directories

[tt]%userprofile%Local SettingsTemporary Internet Files

%userprofile%Local SettingsHistory[/tt]

You might want to clear

[tt]%userprofile%LocalSettingsTemp[/tt]

While you are at it.

The true pathname can vary depending on the Windows version you have and how you have configurated it.
