But these "deportation centers" are not in the first place meant to put illegal immigrants out of the country, but to hold people who are rejected by the immigration service after they filed their request for asylum.

The big problem is that about every request for asylum is rejected here in the Netherlands. Even very legitimate requests are rejected just to keep the numbers down (zo heeft Pim het gewild...). At the same time people who can gather enough money to pay (so they seem to have less life-threatening reasons to leave their home country) are smuggled into the coutry and stay here illegally. The result is that you keep the people in need out, while the source of most problems still keeps growing.

It is not an easy problem to solve, but I don't believe the present policies improve the situation.

JB, I agree with you that this ain't an easy problem to solve. I do believe that things currently ask for a solution. The government is trying things and I say let them.

And Sard, I don't think insults are in place anywhere, no matter what the situation is.

I think a lot of people have bad experience with "foreigners" and take things the wrong way. If a "foreigner" commits a crime, it isn't said that the whole majority of the same race are criminals, which I think is the current situation amongst the Dutch people, only no one dares to admit it.

As example, I see two Marokan (sp?) people breaking into a car in the parking lot here at my work. I look at them and one of the guys asks me what the hell I'm looking at and starts waving with a knife (yes, I did kick the shit out of him and got a fine for physicly abusing another person ::)). That doesn't mean I immidiately dislike my neighbour who comes also from Marokko.

Something recent, there's a family from marokko, living with something like 15 people in one home in the same block as mine. No problem. However, at one day they had their car radio on very loud with their music (loud enough to hear it a block away). My neighbour walked over to me and started to appologize to me for their behaviour. I aksed him why and he stated that it was his race. I told him that he should never have to appologize for someone elses behaviour. I'm not pointing out the loud music here, but the general idea that people have (in this case my neighbour).

There are many problems and the government needs to act (not just the illigal issue). I also believe that the Dutch people should not generalize these things.

Did I said I hated all Immigrants? No, I didn't.

I said "I hate the 'ILLEGAL' immigrants"

Immigrants that think that Holland is a wealth machine which spits out *cough* messed up euros *cough*

If they want to live here and embrace Dutch culture, I won't have a problem with that.

But if they come here and laugh at the face of Holland and commit crimes to the community, then they should be burned in hell and be lynched by the local Dutch folks.

As for the first part, I don't know to who that was as reply, but if it was to me, then I think you got the wrong impression of my statement. I thought you were insulted, which is what I commented on.

As for your second part, I disagree. I don't think people should play judges themselfs.

well this is kinda off topic, yet in away still on topic.

A new foreigner policy is being lead in Denmark, out of fear of the unknown and the hypocracy with people saying all immigrants are criminals and therefor should leave.

our integration ministre has made a law that make it very hard for danes living outside of denmark with a foreign wife/husband to return to Denmakr. This truly pisses me off. I can't remember how many years you'ld have to live outside our border to be catagorized as a non-dane, but the thought alone is repulsive.

I'm working in the forwarding bussiness let's say in a few years I move to the far east or america to work at one of our offices there. And let's say I don't have a wife before then and fall in love with a girl abroad. Then after 10 years abroad I wish to return to my country with my family, that now includes two children. If I decide to do this I'd be catagorized as an immigrant allthough I've lived 23 years in DK and paid my taxes while I worked.

Now THIS makes me feel embaressed to be danish.

edit: sorry I missunderstood something, the law hasn't been passed yet, and the reason why a dane can't marry a foreigner and move back is because I Social Democrats wont allow it to be a law for the immigrants only. But the reason this law was made in the first place was stop forced marriage (girls being sold or promised to their cousins in turkey, this is only an example)

Wow, this is selfish.

People are rich enough here to support more people then they are right now.

And I agree with JB. Because it is that immrigrants are kicked out while they really have right to stay here.

I agree with Nyar about the current attitude of ALL the people here. But the government is only amplifying that. The only thing those parties want is to restore the "so bad" ( ::) economy (oh, how bad, people can't buy a 3rd car anymore...) And they think that they can achieve this by spending less money. And the first group to suffer is, ofcourse, the people who need help most.

Because rich people pay high taxes...

That's kind of unfair, NaMp. Didn't you support the country too, in those 23 years. Then you can expect that they do something in return. That is the other edge.
