This is a bit of a funny question...

Is your motherboard able to power two fans(for cpu cooling)?

One at 2watt, and the other at 1.5 watt?

My chassisfan uses power directly from the psu, so there will only be two fans.

Why I'm asking is because a hardware store is sure that my motherboard will not be able to power both... And they will send me adapters, which cost money for me >:(

My board is a quite new Asus board with a via chipset.

That store makes me very unsure about the fragility of the motherboard's ability to distribute power to fans.

I know that the network is fragile, but there must be limits...

I am a bit confused. Are you asking can you have more than one CPU fan or more than one case fan? The only reason to have another CPU fan is if you have a dual CPU system. One fan should be sufficient for the CPU.

Sorry, I forgot to inform you that this is about a watercooling pacage.

It contains a fan(uses 1.5w) and a waterpump(uses 2w). Both are 12v like normal fans.

That will be everything ran from my motherboard(thinking of fans).

Why the computerstore wants to send me adapters is because when I first got the watercooling, the pump didn't work. The fan did, though.

They said that the pump worked as it should, and said that my motherboard couldn't handle two fans, so they said they will send me two adapters.

Those cost money. And anyway, why send me two adapters when I specificaly said that the fan was working excellent?!

If my motherboard can't spare 3watt for fans, then I'm a bit scared.

btw, I've ordered a 550watt powersupply to replace the current 300w.

This is because my system uses quite a lot of power, and I'm very afraid that my graphic card sometimes get less power than it needs, and the screen blacks out.

Well that could be the problem. I imagine upgrading your power supply should be sufficient for your problem with the fans. What's the model of your motherboard?

The model of my motherboard is Asus A7V8X. It's only 2-2.5 months old.

I'm very satisfied with it.

I imagine upgrading your power supply should be sufficient for your problem with the fans.

So I told the stupid store, but they just said that the adapters were for the pump and the fan, and should still be used.

I was like "Yes, you idiot, I know the adapters are for the pump and the fan! You've already told me that in your two last emails!"

I didn't reply them with that, though :P. In fact, I didn't reply with anything. The customer service people have iq lower than the winter temperature here in Norway...

If they send me something I can do without, I'm going to send it back and mail the leaders(there is a button for that on their website :P. I guess it's needed...) how I feel about their customer service.

Btw, they said they used 3-5 days on treating the watercooling when I sent it back. I haven't got it back after two months! If they want money for their job, it can't be more than a tenth of the original fee...

Ok, enough ranting.

If this is your MOBO

It has the option for 2 fans. One CPU fan and 1 case fan. I'm not shure without being able to check it but there might even be the option for a 3the fan.

One connection is next to the silver cool rib of your co-processor, the second next to your blue IDE connector [ left lower corner in the picture above ] with a possible 3th centered between the middle PCI slots. [ to the back side of your PC between PCI #3 and #4 ].

Yes. I know all this.

It has three fan power connectors, but I don't know whether or not it three fans. I'm only going to run two "fans" anyway...

Btw, I installed the new powersupply now, and it's working great.

Now I just have to wait until the store sends back the watercooling...

I'm going to test RoN to see if the problems have worked out.

The graphic card problem was solved when i replaced my powersupply.

It seems as my computer was on the brink of shutdown all the time ;D

Now, I'm looking forward to get the watercooling back.

Without the expensive adapters.

My graphic card fan is very quiet, so I don't plan on forking out for gpu watercooling.

This is only cpu cooling.

I'm practically fed up with sitting in 48db noise...
