Yep, he was a great guy. Sure he was a separatist, but he was a patriot to our country. He volunteered to fight in WWII, and landed on Normandy. He met a homeless man and hired him on the spot. Truly a great guy.

what is the purpose of this thread? to celebrate the life of a dead Racist? (which is what this guy was) ::)

Actually Nav, I despised the man, but the thread isn't supposed to be loving or hateful, just to say he is gone now.

His dedicated work for his country is more than you will ever do in your entire life for your country

1. you don't know that.

2. so that makes him being Racist "okay"? let's ignore it 'cause he did a few good things for his country. guess what? Hitler did a lot of great things for Germany too. do you know ignore Hitler's racism also?

No it doesn't make his racism "ok", but he has more things to be known about, and better things to be known about. Besides, he stopped opposing civil rights. I'd rather have the man known to be a great patriot to his country than just a racist, especially when his work outweighs his racism.

I don't want to spoil this thread but a little annotation to "Hitler did so much good things for germany" i want to make.

In fact all of his good "deeds"...

1.) ...originated either from concepts that were already made in the Weimar Republic (Autobahn is the main example here)

2.) ...or were only superficially good. Yeah he fought the unemployment very well. The people worked in ammunition factories or build on the infrastructure for the army... The social well being was even worse than before. Less money for more expensive goods.

So i think your comparison isn't felicitous.
