Hey guys, it's been awhile. Not been here for ages, heh heh.

I've got a problem. I bought C&C Generals recently (not the copied version, the full one). So it should be able to play online. However, when I try to update my Generals, it tries to connect, but FAILS to FIND THE FILE!! As a result, I cannot play online.

I'm unable to query in the messageboard as they aren't accepting registrations at the moment, so I need your help.

How many ways are there to play online? Is it like Renegade (Gamespy and the WOL Server) or is it just Gamespy alone or WOL alone? I've heard that the Gamespy server is down, but why can't I even update?

Also, I want to seek technical support. To do so, I must register my Generals. However, in the countries section, there are 3 countries, namely USA, Australia and Canada. There is NO Singapore! Also, even when I key in my Zip/Postal code, it says that I must enter a valid postal code! What's going on!?

First go to generals website and download the latest patch ( version 1.05, soon version 1.06 ) and run it with your generals game off. The patch will be installed manually and afterwards you can start generals and start playing online ...

alright, i've managed to solve the problem. here goes:

In the forums, there's a link: Download the v1.5 patch or something like that.

Here's what I did:

1.) Right-click -> save target as the link

2.) open the saved website

3.) it was an ftp website, which for some reason, i could not access normally.

4.) there was a link, that goes something like generalseng15.exe

5.) i pasted this filename next to the url, turning it into [sERVERURL]generalseng15.exe

6.) Press OK.

7.) I downloaded the file and was able to play Generals online

Apollyon: That didn't work for me somehow. That's why I had to use the above method.

Nyar: I'm using ZoneAlarm as a firewall, and it's an "application". I could simply shut down zonealarm to completely turn it off (but not uninstall it). However, I still could not update the normal way even with my firewall off. And I don't really know how to check my ISP's IP address.

Thanks a million for your attention. I'm gonna be chatting more often in these forums (hopefully). ;D
