In fact, most of the "girls" on almost any online Forum are in reality guys pretending to be girls in order to attract attention from other guys. LOL

I *promise* you I am a girl! I have no idea how to prove it (well I have but I ain't doing *that*!!!) so you'll all just have to believe me. I'm just a gil who likes Dune... *shrugs* I think more girls would love un, but they aren't exposed to it. I am gradually converting many though.. heh.

"the bible was written by men so of course its por men but I think this board isn't I just think not many chicks like dune " (Scytale) ...(one day I fuigure out how to do mulitple quotes)

I think you have hit on the head there :)

"Read between the lines. If you want a relevant example, look no further. What is the most likely underlying purpose for the very existence of this thread? The message is: "I wish there were more girls here because girls who like Dune/computers, just like I do, turn me on immensely!" (and no, I personally don't subscribe to this philosophy - in fact I prefer to have as little contact with "girl" forumers as possible for reasons already stated above). " - Arohk.

I read your reason and I'm not going to dispute what you put, because it isn't my place. But I still don't see it as a reason to *avoid* women. It seems like cutting out a bunch of potential friends.. I'm not, like.. *offended* or anything, because, as I say, it's your opinion, but it made me kind of sad that someone would have to avoid me because I am lesser than them in their belief system. I don't think the Bible states anywhere that you can't be friends..

(one day I fuigure out how to do mulitple quotes)

A bit off-topic, but let me show you how to make multiple quotes:

There are two ways.

The first one is fast, but all the quotes past the first one will not have a link straight to the authors post.

The second one, however, is more neat and gives a link to the author of all the quotes :)

The use of quote tags is dissapointingly low at this forum nowadays... The quotationmarks " are taking over :(

1:

Just copy the quote into a quote tag...

[quote]
Place the quote here and it will be shown as a quote with no link to the author.
[/quote]

2:

* Click on the quote button on one of the posts to quote.

* You will then be sent to the posting page.

* Highlight the whole quote(including the tag, not just the content).

* While the text is still highlighted, press Ctrl and C(the keyboard shortcut for copy) on your keyboard at the same time.

* Click on the "back" button on your browser

* Click on the quote button on another post you want to quote.

* On the posting page, click, with your mouse, at the start and hit enter to go down a line.(The quote you clicked on should now start at the second line)

* Click at the very start of the textbox again and press Ctrl and V on your keyboard(shortcut for paste)

You should now have two quotes. Each with a link to the author.

These are the two methods I know of...

I just think that people here either really dont get out that often and have a problem communicating with women, or its that they just dont know how to treat a girl on a mostly male issue (such as Dune, portions of politics, and some religious thoughts that are talked about.)

It is problem of that girl, that she doesn't talk about these things. From my female friends, they are much more religious than me, they can (and also do) talk about that also more. See Chani here - she can feel very deep into it. About politics, it is harder to say. There are more male politicians, but that's just thing of will of individuals. And Dune too. Forum is for fans of Dune, but it doesn't mean it discriminates those who don't like it.
