Religions Experiences: Key to Mental Disorder

There's nothing surprising to this. Every single feeling coming from a human also has its physical counterpart (chemical, electrical, etc.). So it just has to be all mixed up, druged or whattever. Doesn't mean the real thing is impossible, otherwise we could also say same of everything a human feels/thinks/does (everything can be affected by body's problems).

Eigedes, I wasn't "disproving" religion. I was showing you an article that had supporting evidence that people with religious experiences and people with temporal lobe epilepsy may be connected. Also, this is a breakthrough in our understanding of what effect religious beliefs have on the mind. I can see it now...christians in mental hospitals ;D Jk..

Well it's unexpected but not all that surprising. I've always noticed a very strong mental connection between religion and the mind (or lack thereof). The division of religion and reality has always appeared to me as a fuzzy, zig-zagging curve. One of my favourite religion-quotes is "When you talk to God, it's called prayer. When God talks to you, it's called Schizophrenia."

Perhaps the founders of most religions really are crazy? Then others just modify their words and try to rationalize it...

Just think of that Rael guy. There's no way that guy's NOT crazy.

Acriku, what is mental order? It is relative to say what is order in such things, which are different for every human. I can say you are weird because you don't think as me, but such thinking causes dictatorships.
