It was not only Stalin who killed his own people. KGB, for example, did not lighten their grip of power just because of one leader.

Vanguard is right. I am a marxist/communist, and I support the ideals that this flag stands for.

The fact that Stalin's regime (as you said, not just Stalin himself, but his entire regime, and his successors) utterly betrayed and abandoned these ideals is another matter...
