I know many of you saw where the recent attacks on Saudi Arabian soil are the work of Al-Qaida. A few issuses have come to mind about these type of attacks.

1. It is possible that the Saudi military has been infiltrated by Al-Qaida opertives.

2. Al-Qaida is not intimidated by American actions in both Afghanstan and Iraq.

3. A better counter-terrorism campaign remains to be a critical necessity for years to come in Middle Eastern countries.

Well the attacks were in Saudi Arabia, home of a pretty extreme form of Islam. Globally attacks are still down something like 40% and there hasn't been anything major in the US since 9/11. I think there will always be terrorism in the Middle East until they get some form of democracy, but the chances of that happening aren't too high especially in the short term.

Al-Qadia's terrorist objectives would be oil fields and facilities, airports and airliners would be likely goals in Saudi Arabia . The Saudi Arabian royal family members would also be the target of assassination attempts the pro-American Saudi defense minister Prince Sultan, third in the line of succession to the throne, and his brother, Interior Minister Prince Naif, who is also in command of internal security in the kingdom. Attacking Saudi Arabia in such a manner is aimed at the ecomnics of the Saudi Arabian government remember Bin Laden has a grudge against the Saudi Arabian royal family. Inteiigence sources are showing that the Al-Qadia terrorist organization command capabilities, far from declining, show improved operational skills, undiminished by the capture of key al Qaeda figures in recent months, especially in Pakistan. Al-Qadia has shown to be like the mythical beast of Greek mythology called Hydra.

As far a military capibilites go Saudi Arabia has the following Land Force (Army), Navy, Air Force, Air Defense Force, National Guard, Ministry of Interior Forces (paramilitary).
