T-5, T-4...

What does it mean when the game says "T-5," then, a little later, "T-4," then, "T-3," etc? It can't mean that a superweapon is being launched because I have not gotten hit by a superweapon just after this noise.

Its the starport delivery countdown.

Countdown until reinforcements from the starport as the frigate arrives. It dates back to the days of Dune II.

After it says T-1, the frigate should come on the raidar ans will shortly land at your star port.

I believe that T-5 means time minus 5 with 5 being a unit of time like seconds or minutes. In the game you would, I guess be playing by Dune time. If you have more than one starport though the countdown goes faster so i dont think you could say that it would be 5 sec.
