Caid Ivik
Chirac today showed his primitive french nature, every sign of the "old Europe" in one statement. Sorry, but saying that "candidate countries lost their chance to remain quiet" is not undiplomatical, but I can say aggressive and imperialistic. This idiocy that EU belongs to French and Germans will never end, until they will say this! EU is based on discussion. Is THIS a show of french will to discuss? Edric O
He had harsh words for Romania and Bulgaria, and I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH HIM.Our countries are acting like vassals of the US. Bush's obedient little pets! There should be no place in EU for traitors, and our current government is full of them.
Caid Ivik
Chirac was talking more like we were his vassals. It is our decision to stand on US or french side. They might criticise it, but not saying we shouldn't make any decision!
Anathema
I agree with him that there should be no war, but other then that I dislike him. Remember well how he nuked islands in the southern pacific for "tests".
Edric O
Bush regulary talks like he owns the world, too.
Caid Ivik
But not as an emperor. If he was such as you are trying to show, he wouldn't allow people to talk him like they do. That's democracy, untouchable freedom of having, and saying opinion. Maybe someone should explain it to Chirac.
Edric O
Hey, did Chirac ever try to stop you from having an opinion? You can have any opinion you like. Your position might lead to your exclusion from the EU, but that is perfectly normal - you see, joining the EU is a priviledge, not a right. If you declare yourself to be their enemy, fine. Just don't expect them to welcome you in their midst.
nemafakei
'Dictator' and 'Emperor' today has the same implications as 'rex' in 55BC. What came out? A constitutionally legal focussing of power...and the collapse of democracy.

Just France and Germany think it. To have other opinion than they have, it doesn't mean they are our enemies, just we must seek a consense. nampigai
Caid I agree with you that this is not the Warszaw Pact, however I beleve that EU should have a common foreign policy. I believe we should have a presidency and that the council of ministres was disolved. The power should be in the Parliement this will make it more democratic. That's my opinion. Caid Ivik
Common foreign policy is sure thing. But it must be done by consense of all nations, without dictate of those "strong" countries. Also we aren't part of EU yet, so why he opens his mouth on us, anyway? nampigai
I agree with you Caid, you're perfectly right. Still I think it should be decided in the parliement, however the parliament hasn't the power to do so.
