the only pronunciations for X that I know of are "z", "ks" (normal x), and silent.

if silent, then it is french...right? Only french words have silent X's..right? But this is about english stuff.

unless there is another way to pronounce an X that i havent thought of.

I am trying different ways to pronounce the x

(well actually I'm ignoring it and guessing in the hope that nema will finally say: That's the word, Cyborg!)

The x is not silent, nor an sd like the z in syzygy. I can't find any references to its restriction in this form to BrE, so I presumre the Americans still have this form of word, albeit a little dated.
