this is the male WC and we seem to have a very good team this year so I'm really hoping for a gold medal. But I don't like us being favorites, we never do good when we are favorites :P

lol that's not what I ment what I mean is that we are actually one of the favorites to win the WC, however we do better as underdogs (take the football EC in '92)

Where is the world cup? I know I can barely see it at tv, because we have a very fat man called Mart Smeets presentating the sport program, and he only shows soccer :- (And to depend on the commercial channels = hopeless)

Yes, I play it too. I train 2 times in a week, and I play 1 time (match).

NaMp, do you know if the Germans broadcast much handball and when? I can receive those German channels

well i don't play anymore but the city I live in has one of the best female handball teams of the world. And now it's time that the men took the ball back to where it belongs.

It's a great game. You need to throw the ball into the goal of the opponent. You may walk a few steps with ball, and you have to throw the ball to others to move onward. There is a region in front of the goal where only the keeper may come. The rest must stay out. So the defenders are defending so no offense player comes near that region and can shoot freely (if you jump in the air and have enough speed you are very very likely to score)

It's a quick and rough (no real fighting!) game

it basically has the same rules as racket ball except that you only use your hands. For a while your hands bruise up, but eventually your hands get really tough for hitting the ball. Your in a cube-like room and you both face the same wall, you have to hit the front wall and it can only hit the ground once and then its the other guy's turn to hit the ball. It is a very very old sport.

hmmm TMA that's not the handball I was thinking of hehe

the field is like a football/soccerfield but smaller, you run with the ball in your hands, well actually you dribble like in basketball, and you may take three steps and then finish or play it to a team member. I'll see if I can find a link
