i believe isp stands for Internet service provider. i think that means the company you pay for the internet.(or who they get internet from)

thanks frodo, i am ussing bravenet now, i just got wondering, does it cost money to get(or download) a real forum like this one? i know you probably have to tweak and add stuff, but is it free?

I was wondering, can i use that type of chat on my isp's account? and not run it from my computer?, or can i run it from my computer but it only will work when it is on?

yes i did find a host(?), a website with my internet provider, only get 5 mb of space though.

I'm not sure about your ISP allowing you to host a chat room or IRC on their server. If you run it from your computer it will only work when you are on. If you need more space or would like more features, check out http://www.clickherefree.com/Free_Web_Space_Directory.shtml. There you will find all kinds of hosts that will suit your needs. From these you may be able to run a IRC script.

by chat room i meant forum, but i could look into that. thanks for the help.

EDIT - im pretty sure i can host chatroom and forum with isp provider
