Hello,

I recently made a map, all the cliffs and ramps and spice zones etc are fixed and are just dandy :), I got everything I needed to load this into a map packer and put it on fed2k for the site, the map picture the map etc....Ixianmace checked it over and said everything looked fine.

So now comes the time where we put it into a package and send it off to fed2k, but when I tryed packing it on mappacker I got this error "Cannot creat file C:/My Documents/My Projects/MapPacker/Cmaps/Blades Width By Vilgent1.cmf", both Ixian and I have NO idea what to do, any ideas?

You got no errors when you packed the 7 files?

Did you specify the correct directory in "settings"? ( directory to place packed files in )

setting should be:... /mappacker/cmaps

I do not think that there is another program for creating cmf files.

Advise the following: complete path of the directory where you put the cmaps and the complete path that you put in "settings" of mappacker.

Could you post a pic which shows the 7 files that are required to pack to cmf format?

The 7 files are fine. The problem can only be: wrong mentioned path in "settings" or the mappacker program that is malfunctioning.

Did you already succesfully use it before?

I noticed that the map name is very long, maybe there is a limit in the amount of characters that you may use?

CMAPS is located for me at C:WestwoodEmperorMapPackerCMaps

Change the "setting" to what is mentioned above by using the browse button and try packing it again

I changed all the stuff and made it right and I get the same error

"Cannot Create File C:/My documents/My Projects/CMaps/Blades Width By Vilgent1.cmf"

What the heck! I never told it to go there! Nothing in my settings leads to something like that! I dont even have a My Projects in my documents :'(

This is a pic of what i put as "settings", the directories are exactly the same as where i installed the programs.

Have another look if the changes were accepted and if the programs are installed in that directory.

You mean the maps that gunwounds made? He used the winrar utily to compress the files but he only made 2 of the 7 files that are required to get the cmf format.

I think something went wrong with the instalment of the mappacker program or the program can not find the files due to an incorrect destination directory at the "settings".

Before reinstalling the whole program you could send the 7 files to some1 you trust and ask him to pack the file.

If he succeeds you will know that something is wrong on your side.

Or you could try and reinstall the mappacker program again, but watch out, do not delete the files of the new map you made.

You could use the winrar utility to compress the 7 files yes. But i do not know if gob has the utility to uncompress them as afterwards he would have to use the mappacker program to pack them in the correct cmf format.

As a last resort you could send me the .dme file and I'll remake the map and pack it for you. I won't make any modifications to it, so the map will be completely your work. All you need to do is send me the .dme file, along with the readme for your map and I can do all the rest. You'll need to let me know which colourwash you want me to apply as well.

This is a just an offer, if there's no other alternative. :-

The name of your map is 20 characters. Try a shorter name.
