Hehe, I never said you can stop anything with it. They key is to prevent humanity from using it.

Have you ever read Anthem by Ayn Rand? That's pretty much what I mean.

If one generation stops using violence and never actually tells their children what it is, and so through the generations it would be forgotten.

Hehe, of course this would require quite a lot of propaganda and brainwashing from the government.

i need to welcome you to a place called earth.

here is the corrected version of that statement:

If one generation stops using violence and never actually tells their children what it is, those children will be violent to each other anyway, else just be overrun by another culture that does use violence

Darwinism supports my view, even though I am not even darwinistic.

parents do not teach children violence. they learn that themselves

Hehe, emprworm, I like your sayig that death is inevitable. Here's another example that same thing could be used:

"You are a religious freedom fighter in a building with a bomb attached to you and a button that you can press, so that the whole 100 hundred building will topple.

Death is inevitable. Oh well, then, let's do the moral thing and destroy those, who have occupied my land".

This gives you an example of how your "moral violence" could be used. Every culture has different ideas of morality.

you talk to any parent: children must be taught to do RIGHT. They naturally do what is wrong. It is not natural for a child to share, to build, to sacrifice, to think of others.

It is natural for a child to bully, to be greedy, to knock down that pile of blocks (rather than build one), to be selfish, and to rebel. These qualities come natural to all children. hence we have the condition of the human race.

Every culture has different ideas of morality.

I know this. SOme countries see no problem with forced, brutal slavery. Enslaving women or black people, etc.

which is why those countries in power (like those in the UN) that have the POWER to ENFORCE basic human rights to all must do so.

Civilized Humanity already came to agreement with the War Tribunals that certain crimes are of such barbarism, that they are against the human race itself- these crimes supercede local governments. The UN, when it identifies such crimes (dont make me post another picture) must demand that such activity stop or else ensure that it stops.

And what moral grounds, by the way, do you use to say that enforcing human rights is wrong? Just what moral standard do YOU USE to condemn the UN for identifying crimes against humanity? When the UN says that "such and such action is wrong for all cultures" then what moral basis do you have to stand over them and then say that THEY are wrong?

Posted

of course they are. but the UN represents the civilized world. When the UN says that an action is morally wrong for the world, who are you to say that they are objectively wrong? What moral basis do you use to say that enforcing human rights in Afghanistan is wrong? Yes, it was wrong according to the Taliban! You are most certainly correct. The taliban saw it as wrong. But did that actually make the UN actions wrong? If you say "yes" then what moral authority are you using to put the Taliban's morality above the UN morality AND the enslaved people's morality (who also saw it as wrong)

Posted

that is your view. the view of the UN is that human slavery is MORE wrong than someone saying "poophead" to someone. In fact, the UN upholds the moral view that human slavery is a crime against humanity and that no government on earth should be allowed to propogate it. When the UN then intervenes into a government to stop human slavery, again, what moral basis do you have to say that the UN is wrong in doing so?

To the slaveowners, the interferrence is wrong. To the UN, the interferrence is right. To the ones enslaved, the interferrence is right. So what moral basis are you using to stand against the UN and the enslaved and say that the interferrence is wrong?

"but the UN represents the civilized world."

The first thing we study in ethnic studies is to not be ethno or egocentric. It is a great insult to say that they represent the "civilized world". Before the various european nations came to the america's, the people who were original inhabitants of the great land lived relatively peaceful and tranquel lives. Even the war-like tribes did the same. When the English expanded they hated the european style of warfare. They considered it inhuman. They had a greater sence of morals.

Also take the far east. They truly have been the technological superior of the world for millenia. Many of the nations of the orient had Rich, beautiful cultures that make european ways of life look bland.

Civilization? Who started the world wars? who teaches the ways of war like no other race? white people, western civilization. I am not saying anything bad about anglo saxon people, since I am one of them.lol just be careful with how you speak. It can be taken to great offence. no matter what your intentions are, if you speak without thinking of how it affects others, than you are speaking without thinking.

Gandhi's peaceful approach was admirable. It was incredible it was so effective. It's reassuring to me...just when you think the whole world is the same and that it can't get any worse, someone like him comes along and restores some of your faith in humanity.

I took that test and I'm socially on the same page as him, which is no surprise. Somehow I ended up at the same economic point as him too. I don't think the test was accurate, but for all intensive purposes I think he's great.

acriku, bad boy. lol You know that the power structure is of Western civilisation. Other nations are in it as well, I must agree. Just remember those people are integrated to western thought.
