Update emperor game to V 1.09, it allows the use of fan made maps

1. Create a new directory Emperormappacker and download the mappacker program in that directory

2. After instalment create a new directory cmaps

giving: new directory emperormappackercmaps

3. Run the mappacker program and fill in "settings"

of map editor directory and the directory to place packed files ( see nr 2 )

4. Download a fan made map and save it in the directory ( see nr 2 )

5. Run mappacker program and press "unpack" button

6. Run emperor game and the new map will be listed on the bottom in capital letters

7. Have fun and play

For your 2nd question: mappacker will allow you

to "unpack" ( load a fanmade map ) or "pack" ( to compress in the cmf format )) a map that you made yourself with the mapeditor.

If you want to delete a map you have to do it manually

I read the instructions but its too late....anyway I need to reinstall EMP:BFD now as I suspect a mod lying in there though I didnt download any at all as all 13 games today I played in were out of sync with totally different pple in it

Picture of the icon? What icon are you talking about? Unless you're correctly 'viewing' the contents of a .cmf file using Map Packer, you can't see map thumbnails just by using Explorer, and even then, some .cmf files contain thumbnails that are 'unable to be decoded' by the Map Packer program.

If you read and follow the instrucions there is nothing complicated about it. What don't you understand anyway, there are only 7 instructions to follow as stated above?

Most important: you have to update your emperor game from version 1.04 to version 1.09 by using the latest patch. The fan made maps will only work when you are running V 1.09
