So, name Lilith is of a devil. But you must know how Japanese think. They don't have in their religions Satan, prime evil, only many kamis or gods and lesser demons. They don't see a difference between them, so they mixed everything from semitian myths into one anime. I have japanese version, but I still wan't to know: what were the last words Ritsuko heard? I FEEL it's very important for next scenes.

she didn't hear anything. he just moved his mouth. there have been many people who have said that they lip read gendo's words but how can you lip read that? people have said that he said 'I really did love you' or 'i never loved you' or something like that. in the commentary they said that it was 'that dress does make you look fat.' ;D the fact is it was supposed to be like that. i think it would've been best if it was 'that dress does make you look fat.' ;D ;)

He loved her? I thought Yui was his only one.

again, you did not see the series. one the the things she says near the end is, "I'm not happy anymore. Not even when you make love to me." and he just says, "You disappoint me..." so yeah, i'd guess that might make sense :P

But eliminating such fact from all movies? I read some parts as comics, but there were no signs of it.

that's what i thought too. b/c in the commentary of the dubbed version they say it was silent. but apollyon has seen many things that i haven't. so he would know if anyone.

There were more confusing scenes. For example, Gendo's death. I think it was kind of "poetical metaphore", when he was gripped by Eva-01 (like Kaworu in the end of Death), because it was crucified in that time. Or what it ment?

i think, but i'm not sure, that yui was part of unit 1. in the series when shinji gets absorbed by unit 1 to create the 400% sync ratio and they try to get him out they say that it happened before and the extraction was unsuccesful. it was likely yui that was at the heart of that. so maybe it meant that yui was crushing him and not unit 1 per se.

Yui disappeared in Eva-01, that's true. When Asuka was fightning with Eva Series, 01 was responding on Shinji's call "Mother?" (hearing her scream, "We will soon meet, mama!".

are you trying to say that asuka's mother is in unit 2 and shinji's mother is in unit 1? b/c you sort of flopped back and forth between asuka and shinji there.

I was responding on fact Yui was a part of Eva-01's soul. But Eva-02 had nothing with it. When Asuka yelled it, Shinji remembered for Yui and Eva-01 risen up. In the end of 25th part.

oh yeah, i remember now. shinji heard asuka over the intercom thing. ::) i've got to rewatch it. it's been way too long since i've seen it. i think it was like october or something. :-

I was responding on fact Yui was a part of Eva-01's soul. But Eva-02 had nothing with it.

not part of its soul, Yui is eva 01's soul.

and eva 2 possesses the soul of Asuka's mother.

Gendo did not really love Yui, it is said in I think episode 22 that Fuyutski views their combination simply as convenience, Gendo had the connections to Seele and Yui was a proficient Biologist with ambition.

when gendo is eaten by eva 1 it is not so much symbolic of how he is dying, but more so how he is NOT dying, in that he is not exploding into LCL which brings the question whether he has united with the rest inside Lillith.

Also in a sense Gendou is being punished by God, God = eva 1 as said by Seele:

"it was not on the agenda to create a new God."

He is also being punished by the mother of Shinji which is important as his downfalling is (according to Kaworu in the preceding scene) attributed to his fear of being loved by his son.

But as showed in movies, I think in his deep soul was Yui his only really loved. Altough he still thought his only priority is the Third Impact (under his command, of course). Remember scene just before Rei unites with Lilith - "Now, bring me back to Yui".

also Gendou might well have told Dr akagi that he loved her just to distract her so he could shoot her... who knows?

What if he ment it for Rei? Also, it's unknown where he looked, those glasses have some idea.

but how exactly do you know that he said that he loved her? i haven't heard that anywhere unless it was in the original script or something. for all i know it could have been That dress does make you look fat. ::)

also it makes sense considering her reaction,

"all lies"

and she is crying but evidently happy.

maybe she said 'Remember, it's for the future' or something. then she said 'all lies' meaning that she thought it was for himself and only himself. if they based that off of the response of agaki's reaction, then it's just a possibility out of a few possibilities. unelss they got it from the original script or from anno himself.
