2001 to 3001

Has anybody read the four books? I have and let me tell ya, they are great. How about hte movies? anybody seen them too? what do you guys think of both?

I thought the first movie was a little boring but the second one was good.

I saw 2001 and 2010. The forst part made some sense, well, at least half the movie. The rest I didn't get. 2010 was cool, pretty enjoyable. I haven't read any of the books.

I highly suggest them. If you like mind blowing stuff that is actually really metaphysical.

I love metaphysical stuff, and under most circumstances I don't mind questions being left unanswered, but with 2001 there were to many of them. I thought it was a brilliant piece of writing and a great film, but not really my style of sci-fi.

Exactly. You see my friend and I watched the movie. I have seen it before that many times but he got me into it. He has read 2001 and he said it was good but it was too sci fi. He didnt like it because it explained things. The book goes indepth but at the same time making things very beyond imagination. It explains the aliens and how they evolved from creatures, to machine, to energy beings. It explains it in the book and it is absolutely amazing.

I only read 3001, and it was really boring... Clarke was a great writer, but now I think he should retire (if he hasn't already).

first of all you havent read the others. You j ust started with 3001 which can ruin it. You still have 2001, 2010 and 2064 to take care of. Second it is amazing and not boring! lol read the others man. i bet it will help :)

I've read all of them, and I loved them all. This series of books is among one of my favourites.
