i am thinking of hooking my net comp (this one) to my own PC (in my room without net). i would have to buy a router if i wanted net on the other computer, correct? do i have to have a router if i want to play emp on LAN?

Yes and Sorta. You could hookup your computers by just running a cable between them.

Depends on where you live. Most electronic stores should have them.

You could do with an cross connect cable. Make sure both network cards have UTP connections (rather then BNC).

actually its rj-45, utp is the type of wire, and bnc is for coax, i doubt hed have that.

RJ-45 is okay. If you just want to play LAN games, you can do without router. If you'd wish to connect to the internet with both PC's, you'd need a router (if your ISP allows only one pc on the internet).
