V1.09 Patch for Emperor

Okay, having a problem with the latest patch. I downloaded it here and whenever I try to play I get a message telling me the computer needs to be restarted for the patch to work. I've just been through 6 restarts and patch installations, any idea why I can no longer play Emperor because of it wanting the patch installed time after time?

Besides my becoming an idiot for not mentioning this, I downloaded KH2.

*many* of us had Hell trying to patch Emp to 1.09 even *without* ever using any mods. I know *I* did, and so have several others 'cause I saw their posts first hand on the old boards.

*is smashing my 56k and WOL Server* Little angry, have it patched now but now the lovely idiot things *points to the aformentioned smashed things* don't want to work. I tried logging on to WOL, with only Emperor running, at the highest speed my 56k goes. It said "downloading channels" after about a minute the message "timed out" pops up. I repeat this several times.

Finally I restart Emperor and reconnet to the Internet in case that would help any. It did the same thing.

Westwood had major problems again last night with their servers (Renegade). It might have affected the EBFD servers as well. They had to replace parts again and it would take up more then 5 hours.

You might want to try again today..

Oh, the reason for the restarts (though I may be a bit late) is the patch being in you "patch" folder. If you downloaded it manually, it doesn't delete itself after installing, and Emporer continually detects a new patch.
