GUNWOUNDS Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 [move][green]Obviously since these units are never really used in multiplay.....You never see them massed in large amounts obviously......but sometimes units that seem ineffective at first are rather useful when massed in large armies...can anyone tell me if Mass contaminators can perform any better... or if mass Guild Makers can kill infantry any better.... I have heard than 20-30 contaminators can kill sard elites easy (because they kill them with one slap) and that 10-15 Makers can kill massed fremen and massed troops in general due to spread lightening effect) I know that there are easier and cheaper ways to acomplish the aforemention things ..but has anyone found any useful trick for them?? Massed or unmassed?? Or did WW actually create some *truly* useless units?......I think they did unfortunately... but seeing as how i never use those units or see anyone else use those units i cant truly say.[/green][/move]
shortbusme182 Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 conatminators are truely useless un less you use units to take fire for them even in large numbers but they are pretty effective against sard elites, but no regular sards, never tried the thing with the guild though
GUNWOUNDS Posted August 4, 2002 Author Posted August 4, 2002 Yes i agree... contaminators should at least have the armor of a sard elite so that they can atleast approach their targets without getting killed...(snipers kill them in one hit as opposed to it taking 4 hits to kill a sard elite)... but i guess getting free units makes up for that.One cool thing you can do tho is to make 20-30 scouts and send them to you ally ..and then unally with him and let his one contaminator make contaminators out of your $30 dollar scouts (rather than paying $300 dollars for a contaminator) then Ally back.$270 saved x 30 scouts = $8100 dollars saved and 30 contaminators created

GUNWOUNDS Posted August 4, 2002 Author Posted August 4, 2002 Actually upon further contemplation.... i have come to the conclusion that the sard elite shooting his laser at infantry rather than slicing them is NOT A BUG.....the idea has just recently struck me.....what if your enemies's infantry are flame throwers???? Do you want your sard elites to rush the flame thrower infantry to try to "auto-slice" them?? Hell no they will get flamed all to hell.. i would rather they snipe the flame throwers with their lasers unless there is a way to program sards to slice everyone *BUT* the flamers

xvayne Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 One day i tried making mass contaminators, and makers. The contaminators arent really that good, they work best mixed with other inf, so when your attack, those couple mixed in start to be effective. Mass makers can kill buildings pretty good, and any other inf. Also they sound cool, but i dont think that really matters.
