so are you saying that  some animals may have some sort of conciousness? That they are aware of the things they incounter and can make rational decisions on their own?

Ofcourse they have consiousness man... If they didnt, then they are death. People always think that animals cant think, that they are dumb like hell and follow instincts. Man they can think, but most of the time animals follow instincts for survival.

Well EBA it's like I said it depends on the animal. You know the old saying "a elephant never forgets" well it's true as some animal researchers have found out.

Well yes Acriku the graveyard would be large and the other animals have to eat so I would suppose that other animals would come to the graveyard to scavange. It's just the emotional attachment with the elephant species is amazing in it's comparision to human emotions in regards to death. There are other animals with these same responses, I just happened to mention elephants.

I wonder if insects have emotions too. If you watch some of their Species fighting and doing some other aggressive behavior ??? :)

i always thought of insects as living by only reaction and instinct, never with thought or reason.

Insects usually are "hive-minded", they do not do any thinking outside of the box.
