Anathema
I have a question. Hawat was going to betray and murder Paul for some reason beyond me when Paul defeated the emperor. Paul changed his mind but why did he inted it in the first place?

Emperor Harkonnen
btw what happened to Hawat. I haven't seen his name mentioned once in Dune Messiah?
TMA_1
He didnt betray. He killed himself rather than betray paul.

zispin
Yeah, but hadn't he been given that poison when he was first captured, and the Harkonnen had been feeding him the antidote?
TMA_1
antidotes dont cure all poisons. antidote just is a simple saying for something that counteracts a certain poison or sickness. Nema or somebody much smarter could say it better.lol anyways that poison was different then the constant poison he was fed in his meals. Vanguard3000
Thufir was injected with the late Piter De Vries' invention - the Residual Poison. It's a poison that is uncurable. However, there is a temporary remedy, which must be taken at certain times (i.e. twice a day). Withdrawal of the poison will kill the victim (Thufir).
