Luminar Posted December 26, 2013 Share Posted December 26, 2013 all I know:- all units/buildings must be defined in .DAT file- the .DAT file have additional informations about them (stealth [stealth raider],used sprites[this is for unit behaviour],etc.....)- you must make sprites (not really needed [sardaukar])- you must add new lines to the .BIN files- add new sounds ingame if you want (it need .DAT modding too)- you can't add new units with tibed (unit behaviour)//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//---//we only need some pro reverse engineerers (MVI) to mod .DAT file ADDING NEW UNITS IS POSSIBLE !!! THE AQIB Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 adding unit is possible..compare side by side version 1.03 &1.06 files and updates and find out the differences..maybe..just maybe..i'm trying to decipher dune2000.dat file now i've put it on hold due to exams..if i find i'll post stuff..if someone else finds please do make it public..what luminar did here is a good start..find how a unit is written in dune..where are the roots??if someone could build a tree for a general object in game maybe we might solve the add new unit problem..lets go systematically.. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

THE AQIB Posted January 12, 2014 Share Posted January 12, 2014 well im talking about general things now because im atudying for an exam abnd jm repying to this forum when bored of studying..about my mod i cant seem to like a particular thing and i keep changing kt again and again till i kept the project on hold for my exams..im starting it again on summer..and finding about adding unit is part of my dat file reverse engineering im doing.. I myself kinda lost interest in it tbh.im really sorry about that..but i feel lazy to recolour the tilesets..also i get less time..i promise itll be done within five months..atleast the demo will be out..actually the game is over and only a few bugtests remain..once they are over a demo will be released..oh and i have a major problem with hi res patch..so itll be sometime till i fix it properly..im in touch with d2k sardaukar on it..feda i will release a demo in the next month..dont loose interest my friend.. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
