THE AQIB Posted January 1, 2013 Share Posted January 1, 2013 i've played dune 2 before when i had win xp... but when i try playing it in windows 7 it shows me an error tht 'fullscreen is not supported' and dont show the game at all...any idea why this happens... i want to play it again... You can either use the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Virtual_PC'>Windows Virtual PC which emulates a machine with WinXP SP3, or http://www.dosbox.com/'>DOSBox. Nyerguds Posted January 4, 2013 Share Posted January 4, 2013 I've seen that before, yes. I think starting from windows Vista, full screen DOS mode isn't supported anymore. You can't switch a normal console window to fullscreen like you can in XP, either. MrFlibble Posted January 6, 2013 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Apparently, at least in theory, a 64-bit OS should be able to run 16-bit applications in compatibility mode (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64#Operating_modes'>here and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_mode'>here). I've read the "dropped the 16-bit support" explanation in the RGB Classic Games Forums I think, several times, and the admin there is more tech savvy than I am, so I assumed it was kind of the case.
