RRT2 Strategy Guide Links

Having recently gotten back to playing RRT2, and never having played it much in the first place, I feel as if I am ten years too late to the party. I searched all over the internet for strategy guides to learn how to be a better player of this game. I found some great information, and many references to information that appears to be no longer available. That led to some sniffing around the pages kept at www.archive.org to see if I could find some of these older gems. I now have a pretty thick notebook for my efforts, so there's actually quite a bit out there if a person spends the time. In the event there are others who are 'late to the party,' I wanted to share everything I found in terms of strategy material. I tried not to put anything here with only general information (I also didn't note any of the forums, which are also very helpful), but actually something where someone went to some effort to write strategy. Credit is given where I could find a name. And, if anyone is interested, the approximate number of pages of material is also given.

While there is still some activity on this board, I understand perhaps very few will actually ever see this post. But if someone does, maybe knowing where to find all this information will be helpful!

A wind storm knocked out the power again, about 50,000 of us, but I'm back now.

Actually The Terminal has a lot of drop in members over a months time.  Before Christmas it is always a slow time.

After a quick look, I found your material very interesting and would like to thank you for posting it.

Feel free to post anytime.

I have two binders full of old RT2 Information.

If I can find some time I will open the binders to see what I do have.  I have a new scanner/copier/Printer/ fax/ telephone  to learn how to use.  8)

Wow, I remember going through a lot of those site "back in the day". :) I remember thinking how hard map making is and that you would need a lot of creativity to finish it.

I didn't think I would ever create one but I did, and it was fun and frustrating all at the same time! :)

Hi Akuenzi, thanks for linking up all these RT2 Strategy guides! I'm glad you liked mine enough to include it in your list.

I was wondering if I might trouble you to alter the link you've got in your post? The preferred link is HTTP://RT2P.Mopjockey.com (no www). I always have that link pointing to the guide (actually to a landing page pointing to the guide), whereas the page the guide is on may change or disappear, like frex if I convert it back to a .DOC or to a .PDF or even find a better place to host it than Google Docs. Plus, the landing page I have allows people to comment, to either say thanks or to point out errors or make suggestions. Aaaand as if that weren't enough excuses, if I ever get around to finishing my maps (REALLY close to almost releasing the Florida Landrush map) I will have them linked up on the landing page as well. Wouldn't want anyone to miss something so many years in the making. Plus I've been doing some preliminary work on revamping the whole guide to make it even better, and that naturally means it will be on a different link than the one you have, BUT will still be accessible via the landing page.

Convinced yet? :D All right, well, you know, have a great day playing RT2.

It's done! No need to convince me of anything ~ glad I could fix it. :)

I try to check this page periodically to make sure the links still work, and make adjustments as needed. However, I'm totally defeated on Oliver Keating's site. Up until a few months ago, it was still a live online website. It now no longer exists, so I switched it over to what I could get from internet archives. For a while it worked, but now it doesn't pull anything up. It blames some 'robot' file for it, which is something completely over my head. I have paper copies of the pages of his site that I suppose I could scan to a pdf file and upload, but I'd probably need to ask Mr. Keating for permission to do that. Does anybody know how to contact him or if it would be allowable without his permission? It seems the right thing to do to ask first. Does anybody know of a way to get around a 'robot?'
