Paul's Return To The Silver Screen Delayed?

In keeping with past attempts to film Dune, Peter Bergs recent adaptation seems to have been indefinately delayed.   Variety is reporting that Berg has now signed on to direct the big screen adaptation of (wait for it)...

Battleship!

Battleship! is aiming for a 2011 release, which Berg will then follow up with another movie called "Lone Survivor". Dune, just one of the many projects on Bergs plate, "will come later".

Recently I've read unconfirmed rumors on a Russian forum that Berg's no longer going to direct Dune because he's too busy with other projects. No idea if it's true or not, too lazy to check.

Evidently that's what Hack #1 was saying at Dragon Con (that Berg is out). Myron Berritt on Dumb Novels was saying the same thing, but then wasn't there an interview with Berg where he talked about going on with Dune?

Sounds like the usual cluster-f**k where the Lesser Herberts and Greater Hack are involved. :D
