Peter Berg Reveals The Tone His Dune Adaptation Will Take

Minus the fun bit, I completely agree.  Everything else it may be, Dune is also an action-adventure novel and has what could be some amazing fight scenes, if filmed properly.  I also agree that the Lynch and Harrison adaptations of the film were missing that sense of epic adventure and edge of violence that existed in the book.  However, when it comes down to it, that's the dessert.  The real meat and potatos of the book is Paul and his transformation.  That is something which Yaitanes nailed in Children of Dune and it is what I fear Berg may not be capable of accomplishing.

It also strikes me as the biggest flaw of the prequels.  They focused on the action/adventure, but nothing else.

What else would you expect from the guy professing in Star Wars novelizations?

I hope they don't try and sneak as much of the "new canon" stuff as possible in the movie - that is certainly going to ruin it for me, personally.
